About Me<\/h2>\n \n \n \n

\u201cI have lived in Wales all of my life. Having worked in the care sector for an extensive period of time, I am proud to say that Helping Hands is one of the most proficient organisations that I have ever worked for.<\/p>\n

Career Pathway<\/span><\/p>\n

Wendy has worked in the care sector for over 28 years in a range of different roles, such as an administrator for a group of care homes including drug and alcohol dependency, nursing and residential homes. She has also been a carer herself, so has hands-on experience with providing personal care<\/a>, support with mobility, household duties, assisting with medication and general companionship.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n

Since joining Helping Hands just over six years ago, Wendy has worked as a Live-in Care<\/a> Manager. At the beginning of her career with Helping Hands, Wendy covered the entirety of the Wales region. Throughout the duration of her time in this role, the levels and volume of care provided across Wales has grown significantly – Wendy is now one of three managers covering the area.<\/p>\n

Her role involves having responsibility for the management, development and growth of live-in customers, carers and care packages across the South and West Wales region – whilst also promoting the highest standards of care, services and ensuring quality standards are maintained within all areas of the business at all times.\u00a0 Wendy also promotes, drives forward and takes accountability for the region to meet staff compliance, Care Quality Commission<\/a> (CQC)\/Care Inspectorate Wales<\/a> (CIW) regulations and company policies.<\/p>\n

Qualifications and Professional Development<\/span><\/p>\n

Wendy is one of Helping Hands\u2019 Dementia Champions<\/a>, an accolade that recognises her expertise in the condition. To achieve this, she has completed advanced dementia training and has worked with and supported many customers with the condition.<\/p>\n

Wendy holds qualifications in Business and Administration (Organisations and People), City & Guilds NVQ Level 4 Registered Manager Award; Institute of Leadership & Management Level 4 Award and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care. She is also registered with Social Care Wales<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n \n
